The Babbling Toad

Hush, and listen above the musings of the loud and proud.

Redeemer Saviour Friend

Today, I was brought to face to passing of my grand aunt. She's the youngest sister of my paternal grandmother, who was diagnosed with bowel cancer at its very late stages sometime middle of 2009, yet, a miracle of her own, because she managed to survive until today.

She had lost so much weight through the course of the condition. The cycles of chemotherapy, followed by bouts of nausea and vomiting, from loss of appetite to severe weight loss, from a sudden change in bowel habits to severe debilitating pain dependent on morphine - it really was not an easy time.

Today, there is nothing I can do to help from afar, but I can only thank God for seeing her through thicks and thins, and now, for freeing her from the sufferings of this mortal world. May the Lord strengthen her immediate family members as they face this challenge, and make them believe in the eternal salvation that you have promised. And dear Lord, I specially pray, that you instill courage and strength in this cousin of mine who is now still in New Zealand, that she may be able to handle all of these with minimal sorrow, and shower her with peace as you heal her from this hurt.

Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let the perpetual light shine upon her. May the soul of this faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

Amen.
