The Babbling Toad

Hush, and listen above the musings of the loud and proud.

Counting down!

I can almost smell the sambal on my nasi lemak. I can also taste my favourite teh-c peng on a long-awaited sunday morning breakfast after mass.

Oh oh oh. 2 more weeks to homeeeee! ;))

My mind is just so filled with happy thoughts about home and home and Chinese New Year and Chinese New Year and cousin's wedding, cousin's wedding, cousin's wedding. I'm a bit stressed at the moment because I'm feeling so anxious for her and exhilarated and absolutely hyped! Through these times I realise that I'm a person who likes to be in control of things. When things slip out of my hands, I feel very anxious and I cannot sit still. I'm supposed to be the maid of honour (I think that's what you call) of hers but being physically apart have made things a bit hard! I definitely look forward to going home and helping her prepare - after all, she is my ever-annoying cousin who has probably been the longest friend of mine and the one I grew up with and the one I didn't expect to marry that soon! But nonetheless, *rubs hands* I am so excited about it!

And the other reason that got me a bit stressed up is Chinese New Year. Arriving home on the 29th of Jan, I've got a long to-do list to be accomplished within the 5 days before Chinese New Year. Hawker food hunt, clothes shopping, hair cut, dental check-up, cookie baking, hanging out with gang - ahhhhhhhhhhh I just can't wait!

And to add up to the good times, I'll be on paid leave for the whole period I'm away - meaning I won't be working but will have money loaded into my pocket! Ahhhhh, marvellous!

Meanwhile at work - the Christmas and New Year rush is all over now. Pharmacy gets quiet sometimes, on and off, especially during the late afternoons. Good for me because I can catch up on my webster packing which needs to be 100% done before I leave for home, and also plenty of time to look closely at the products on shelf and better understand them. Everything under my wings are now back on track!

I'm partially glad that my cousin is getting married because I get a good reason to go home! My initial plan was to stay here in Tassie over CNY because excuse for self - I have to work. But really, it makes a difference to be able to go home. There is a reason to wake up to a better tomorrow ;)) Not rubbing salts into wounds of those not going home, but home really, is still home.

Tersangat best.
