The Babbling Toad

Hush, and listen above the musings of the loud and proud.

Made it, made it

And so, this is it. THIS IS IT.

It is official that I will be graduating on the 15th of December, with Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours)! And tumpang, may I also proudly announce the official graduation of Aaron Poh with Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) on the 13th of December!

Its all happening now! Thank God for results! And thank God for the mercy you have shown on each of us, and thank you for making the dream of a complete Wonder 5 graduation come true! ;))

I can see that I'm quite excited by the amount of exclamation marks that I'm using.

So neway, worked 38 hours this week. Have been swapped from casual to permanent staff, and my salary has dropped from an already poor pay of 18/hour to 15/hour. I just don't understand why do we get such little pay as an intern. Come on, I got better pay when I worked in the vegetable factory. But if you'd ask me if I'd swap this for that, no no, I'd rather not.

Although I must say, the biggest con of a pharmacist is that we have to stand the bloody whole day. The pharmacist working with me talked about his problems with varicose veins, a result of prolonged standing as he's basically stood his whole life as a community pharmacist. I don't want to get that in 20 years time! Ahhhhh.

For record purposes, my progression at work:
#1 Officially an independent webster packer. I now know how to start new patients on pack, enter details into the system, prepare packs for existing patients, and I'm going to revamp their documentation system because the tables and everything are in a mess and it annoys me, A LOT, A LOT!

#2 Counselled a patient on the use of spacer for her asthma.

#3 Remembered that fenofibrate needs avoid sunlight sticker, and isosorbide mononitrate needs label 16.

#4 Spoke on the phone with Medicare. And this time they didn't mishear whatever I say - success it is! :)) What occurred the first week was I had to spell out a patient's birthdate to get his details, and I said 23 (twenty-three), and she misheard it as 33, and she said, there's no 33 days in a month! =_______=

#5 Introduced the script collecting system that I have learnt from the community pharmacy experience in Bairnsdale to my current work place. I'm taking over the role of sending scripts to Medicare, so I gotta do things the way I want them to work! Heeeeee

If fate brings me to become a community pharmacist, I must still aspire to be a successful pharmacist.

So looking forward to 15th of December, where I get a day off work!
